So here is the thing: I bought a beautiful 14k white gold ring for my wife to replace her old wedding ring that was damaged a couple of months ago during our trip to Las Vegas.  At first I was furious but cooler heads prevailed and I just decided to get her something new.  But I decided to do something different this time around and get her an entirely different type of ring with an entirely different kind of stone.  And, I bought both parts separately.  The ring I already mentioned, so the diamond will be a fancy yellow diamond.

Why a fancy yellow diamond?  For one thing, my wife’s favorite color is yellow.  She loves to wear clothes of that color.  In fact, she has this lovely yellow dress that she absolutely looks dynamite in.  I personally think that her new ring with the new stone would go very well with that yellow dress.  I am hoping – or rather I know – that she will get a huge kick out of wearing a ring with a diamond that has her favorite color.

When her first ring broke I was so mad but it looks like it will turn out well in the end.

I am a bit nervous.  Actually, I am very nervous.  I am planning to propose to my girlfriend – who I have been going out for over five years now – and I want to get her the perfect ring for this important time in both of our lives.  After asking for her parent’s blessing I asked her best friend to help me pick out a ring for her.  I think we visited three department stores and two dedicated jewelry stores until we found the place we were looking for and the right ring I was looking for.  It took me some time to decide between two rings but I think I will go with the diamond semi-mount.

The diamond semi-mount I am interested in getting for her is 14k gold with 0.75cts of diamonds.  It also has setting that can hold a 1.50ct Round Center.  I am planning on getting the diamond separately from a friend of mine whose family is in the diamond importing business.  I am hoping he can cut me a good deal on the diamond so I can use it on this extremely gorgeous ring.

With the help of my girlfriend’s best friend, I think she will easily say yes to this ring.

“Hey man, sorry I am late.”

“Do not worry about it.  Glad you could make it.

“So you are ready huh?”

“That I am!”

“Are you sure?”

“What do you mean, am I sure?”

“As your best friend and potential best man, I have to ask that kind of question just to make sure that you are absolutely sure.”

“I am very sure that I want to spend the rest of my life with her.  So I am going to ask her to marry merry me.”

“Good for you, man!”

“Thanks!”

“So what are we looking for?  Obviously a ring but any idea on what kind?”

“I have some ideas.  It will not just be a plain old gemstone engagement ring.”

“What then?”

“I am looking to get her a yellow diamond engagement ring.”

“Nice man.  Yellow is her favorite color is it not?”

“Yup.  That is why I am getting an engagement ring with that color stone on it.”

“Good move man.  She will definitely love that.”

“Yeah.  It is going to be a radiant cut stone with two smaller diamonds to the side of it.  Maybe princess cuts.  The ring is going to be platinum.”

“You really are going all out for this.”

“Absolutely!”

She took one last sip of her red wine and placed the wine glass on the table.  I was only looking at her now, with a smile on my face. She was wearing the backless dress that she knows I like; it was a deep blue, my favorite color.  On her neck was one half of the sapphire jewelry set I had bought her as an anniversary present: a diamond necklace with sapphire gemstone.  The other half she also wore: a pair of sapphire earrings.  Good God she was lovely.

I gestured towards the bottle of red wine.  “Want more wine love?”

She smiled coquettishly and simply shook her head.  I nodded.

“I cannot believe you made dinner.”  She smirked.  It was that smirk that made me fall in love with her all those years ago.

I heard the emphasis on the “you” and laughed.  “As you know I am full of surprises.”  I pointed at both the necklace and earrings.  “Do you like the sapphire jewelry set I got you?”

She did not say anything, she just looked at me for a moment until she lowly got out of her chair and walked toward me.  I turned to face her.  She leaned down and passionately kissed me.  After what felt like a long time she removed her lips from mine.  She smirked again and tilted her head upstairs.  That was where our bedroom was.  I smiled.
