Fancy yellow diamond

Fancy yellow diamond

First of all, diamonds that have an intense yellow or brown color or any other color is called a fancy diamond.  Fancy yellow diamonds have a rare, but intense yellow color to it that makes it one of a kind.

When people see ads in print or on TV, they usually advertise clear, colorless diamonds.  Though rare, colored (i.e. fancy) diamonds do exist.  Fancy yellow diamonds are made that way by the presence of impurities or structural defects that change the color to a very deep and noticeable yellow.  The main impurity found in such a diamond are nitrogen atoms.  When the nitrogen atoms form and coalesce in a certain way, they give the diamond a color.  In yellow diamonds, the nitrogen atoms have to be dispersed within the diamond’s structure thoroughly and in isolated parts.

For people who want to sport yellow diamond jewelry, yellow diamonds are the way to do it.  Imagine this: a lovely yellow diamond necklace with a matching set of diamond earrings.  You might want to add a diamond bracelet or two.  It may seem like going overboard but if you want to impress others, this is the way to do it.

When shopping for diamonds, take a look at the section of fancy colored diamonds; I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Diamond jewelryValentine’s Day is this week!  Did you buy your special someone that diamond pendant she always wanted?  What about a matching set of earrings as well?  If not, it is not too late to go out and splurge a little on the one you love most.

Considering the color associated with Valentine’s Day, you cannot go wrong with buying her red or pink jewelry.  Jewelry associated with this special day would go great with the dozen or so red roses you will be getting her as well.  Buying her diamond jewelry is the perfect way to show her how much she means to you; diamonds are forever, after all.

Besides these awesome gifts you should make reservations at her favorite restaurant or better yet, cook for her instead.  Search through the Internet and find a simple but tasty dish she will enjoy and try cooking it a couple of times before the big day as practice.  See if you can make it a surprise dinner after work.  She will really appreciate the effort it took to do this all for her.  The jewelry can act as the bookend for the night.

Plan things ahead now so you and your loved one can enjoy the day together.

Gifting a Tennis Bracelet

February 6th, 2012 | Posted by HeinreichS in Diamond jewelry | Jewelry - (0 Comments)

Diamond tennis braceletNothing says “Happy Anniversary” like a tennis bracelet.  Leading up to this day you have been both excited and nervous about getting her something really special.  You left work early and headed into the store early to beat out the crowds.  You spoke with the courteous salesperson about getting a bracelet for your special someone.  After what seemed like a long time your eyes fell on a lovely tennis bracelet that you know would look lovely on her.  You ask the salesperson to take it out and she hands it over for you to check out.  From your pocket you fish out an old bracelet she used to wear and you size it next to the other one: they are exactly the same length.  Smiling up to the sales lady you say, “This is perfect.”

Later that night after dinner you tell her that you have a gift to give her.  From your pocket you take out the velvet covered box and you see the surprise in her eyes.  You open the box and she touches it gently, almost fearing to break it.  With a smile on your face you take the diamond tennis bracelet out of the box and place it around her wrist.  She hugs and kisses you and tells you how much she loves you; you do the same.  This is the best anniversary you have ever had.

Gemstone jewelryMy mom’s birthday is right around the corner so I am thinking about buying her some gemstone jewelry.  Her birth month is February so that means her birth stone is amethyst.  The beautiful violet gemstone will look wonderful as part of a set of earrings, necklace, and/or a ring.

She is a big fan of necklaces so I think I will buy her a gold necklace with a pendant.  In the center of the pendant will be a modest size amethyst gemstone.  If at all possible I will also buy her a matching set of earrings.  Of course, there will be amethysts incorporated into the earrings.

Gemstone rings and the like make excellent gifts for loved ones.  Giving the gift of jewelry to someone is always appreciated but you can make it even more meaningful if you add a birthstone.  By adding a birthstone you convey the feeling of understanding and appreciation to the person you are giving it to.  When you give someone jewelry as a gift, you show them how valuable they are to you.  Both the act and the item combined is the perfect combination.  Add a gemstone that relates to the person in question and it makes the gift that much more meaningful.

Diamond jewelryDiamond jewelry is the perfect gift for that special person in your life.  As the old adage goes, “Diamonds are forever.”  And what better way to say as much about your relationship than by giving such a wonderful gift to the one who you have a deep connection with?

Imagine the look on that person’s face when you reveal the small, felt-covered box you were hiding behind your back.  It is your anniversary.  You open the box to reveal a lovely gold bracelet lined with a number of tiny, precious diamonds.  Each diamond represents each year the two of you have been together.  You take her arm and carefully place the bracelet around her wrist and clasp it tightly.  It fits perfectly and looks great on her.  She loves it.

But that is not all; from your packet you reveal a smaller, similar box.  Another smile lights up her face.  You open it up to reveal a matching set of diamond earrings.  She gasps and tells you how lovely they are.  You offer them to her and she carefully takes each one and replaces the ones she is wearing with these new ones.  She walk to the mirror and her eyes dart to the diamond band and then to the earrings.  Her reflection smiles at you and you smile back, knowing this night has been special to you both.

How She Wore Ruby Jewelry

January 9th, 2012 | Posted by daniela in gemstone jewelry - (0 Comments)

gemstone jewelryI placed the ruby jewelry in her hand, watched her long fingers enclose it, and reach around me for an embrace. Her eyes shimmered with mystery and pleasure, as though she felt like precious jewelry herself, desired, rare. And proudly she put the ruby earrings delicately into her ear, and slowly turned her head from side to side, so that the gems refracted light, sparkling.

“How do I look?”

I knew that the lapidary had only done so much, that she really did wear them well and that if it weren’t for the way the gemstone jewelry sat on her soft ear lobes, under her silken brown tresses, they would be special, of course, but as they set, they were desirable. I wanted them for myself; in a bizarre fleeting twist of fancy, I wanted them for me, and by association, I wanted her.

“Beautiful.” She smiled, expecting nothing less. She would have like for me to’ve kept going, but I couldn’t give her anything more. At such a point, the only effective compliment would’ve been understatement, and with that I risked offending her. So I did the next best thing — I put my hands on her soft cheeks and passionately kissed her mouth.

The Diamond Tennis Bracelet

January 2nd, 2012 | Posted by daniela in gemstone jewelry - (0 Comments)

diamond tennis braceletThe diamond tennis bracelet has an interesting story behind it. 25 years ago, there was no distinguishing an ordinary diamond bracelet from its thinner counterpart. But when Chris Evert, the world’s former No. 1 women’s tennis player was playing in the 1987 U.S. Open, her slim diamond tennis bracelet broke. The match was paused to allow her to collect the spilled diamonds. Afterward, all diamond tennis bracelets of a thin, lightweight style were called tennis bracelets. Even today, stars such as Serena Williams wear diamond tennis bracelets on the court and off.

These bracelets are so popular because they are elegant, easy to wear, and light enough to feel comfortable in when wearing evening dress or more casual clothing. Because diamonds are colorless they are easy to pair with dark and light colors, as well as other jewelry, such as yellow diamond rings or other colored gemstone rings.

Diamond jewelry in general is one of the best ways to exude class and gentility. And the style of the diamond tennis bracelet symbolizes a more active lifestyle than the traditional diamond earrings or diamond pendant; it’s a more modern style of jewelry wear which makes it considerably more appealing for the active woman.

emerald jewelryIt usually takes a few dates before you’re willing to buy her emerald jewelry, but if you decide to, chances are she’s worth it. But if you’re unsure, there’s no rush. Here are a few tips to help you know that she’s worth gemstone rings.

You don’t make each other jealous. Jealousy is a red flag that never winds up well.

You were raised similarly. This may sound vague and it is, but if you’ve ever had a talk about the differences in how you were raised, i.e. the things you’re used to in character  not being what she’s used to in a person, perhaps you don’t have what it takes to make it work long-term.

You share the same politics. This is by far the most subjective tip on this list, but you know that when you share political views, you are working from the same foundation. Usually that foundation is strong enough to support a long-term relationship.

Of course there’s nothing wrong with buying emerald jewelry for the one you love, even when you know or don’t care whether it’s going to work in the long run. If you’re buying gemstone rings to celebrate the moment, so be it. Just don’t ask for them back.

fancy yellow diamondsGemstone jewelry makes the perfect gift because it’s shiny and well-cut. But there’s a lot of work that goes into making emerald jewelry so beautiful. A raw emerald is an opaque green rock. Since diamonds are so hard, they’re often used by lapidaries to shine and polish raw gemstones, including diamonds themselves. Gemstones are sawed with water or oil to wash away debris and prevent overheating in the machine. Then they are ground with silicon carbide wheels, then sanded to remove scratches from the stone that occurred during grinding, then polished to get that shiny reflective nature of the stone to come out. Ultrafine shaping is usually the last part of the finishing process. Different gemstones require polishing by different gemstones due to their specific hardness.

Cabochons are rounded instead of faceted gemstones and are usually made with softer stones. This is because they can be more easily scratched and made unattractive than harder stones. Most cabochons are elliptically shaped or they have flat bottoms and convex tops. Cabochons are often found in pendants, and can also be made from harder stones, in the case of diamond pendants. Now that you know how much work and precision goes into shaping your ruby jewelry or fancy yellow diamonds, you may be more willing to spend a little extra on a well cut gem.

diamond tennis braceletSometimes when you feel weird and sad and you remember your last love and all the nice yellow diamonds you bought her, you feel alone. But life has the oddest habit of working in waves, or to paraphrase Bob Dylan, to show the deepest dark before the light. You may soon find yourself with someone new, who is better than you possibly thought they could be and now you want to thank them for coming into your life, for showing up at just the right minute. Consider a diamond tennis bracelet.

This small token is enough to express how much this person means to you. And like all jewelry, it will conjure memories of you whenever they put it on and all those feelings of adoration and love will come flooding back. That is the power of memory, which is both fortunate and compelling– it can recall the saddest and hardest times of our lives as well as the sweetest and best. But the best thing about a diamond tennis bracelet or yellow diamond rings, for example, is that they remind you that you’re alive. They give you a rush of feeling, and that feeling is it, is what makes life.
